Auditorium

Three’s Company’s original interactive farce.

Auditorium is a groundbreaking new experimental interactive comedy: a traditional farce which explodes into the theatre auditorium to embroil both theatre staff and audience in an escalating series of unpredictable events.

An already fraught day at Guy’s bookshop is somewhat complicated by the baffling discovery of a Fringe audience in his storeroom. As word spreads – among his friends, co-workers and mysteriously returned ex-girlfriend – an unlikely and impossible collaboration begins, between two very different worlds. Before long, the farcical high-jinx spread beyond the fourth wall, the divide blurs and everyone – from customers to mysterious international agencies, from the intermission ice-cream seller to the individual audience members themselves – is involved in a pitch battle for their very existence.

Auditorium is the latest work from award-winning comedy-writer Tom Crawshaw (“Stoppard for the Gondry generation”) and is directed by Yaz Al-Shaater – making it the fourth writer-director partnership of the two. It sees Three’s Company welcome back production manager Bekki Coward and “the most vocal lighting technician on the Fringe” Ben Cooper – joined by a host of new faces, who make a twenty-strong team from all across the globe.

Auditorium was the 20th production from multi-award-winning Three’s Company – and their biggest to date. The piece previewed at the Buxton Fringe before appearing at C Venues 108 seat theatre – at the heart of the Edinburgh Fringe.
