Yaz has a wide experience of performance in Buxton, Derby, Manchester, Edinburgh and London. An all-round performer, Yaz’s many comedy performances – including lead roles in the ‘Transport Trilogy’ (Buxton Fringe 2003 – 2005) are juxtaposed by more serious roles including Othello, Macbeth, Hamlet, Romeo and Puck in recent years.
Previous theatre credits include Dan Pan in Ticky Tock (Buxton Fringe, 2006); The Naked One in Synchronicity (ICA, London, 2006); Paris in Romeo and Juliet – Deceased (C Venues, Edinburgh Fringe 2005); Nick and Cameron in Plane Of Existence (Buxton Fringe, 2005); Nick in Platformation (Manchester 24:7 Festival, 2004) Othello in Othello (Buxton Opera House Studio Season, 2004); Romeo in Romeo and Juliet‘ (Ludlam Theatre, Derby, 2005); Cheever in The Crucible (The Old Clubhouse, 2002). He is also an accomplished signer, pianist and guitar player and is training in magic skills.
Yaz has an extensive experience of theatre having directed five Three’s Company productions, and produced and designed lighting, sound, sets and publicity for numerous others. He runs an independent design company which has supplied publicity materials and websites to professional arts companies and individuals around the country. With several years experience in venue management, Yaz is co-founder of Underground Venues with Tom.
Outside of the arts, Yaz enjoys languages, photography and appropriating hats he finds on the street.
