Three's Company Need You!
posted by Michael Grady-Hall on Monday, 28 December 2009

During January
Three's Company are taking over the
Tristan Bates Theatre in
Covent Garden.
From the 4
th-23rd the award-winning
Play On Words will be playing everyday at 7.30pm (4pm on Sundays), and from 8
th-23rd 3C will be hosting
The Reactivity Season.
But
we need your help! We have yet to cast some pivotal roles - which anyone can take, without any prior experience. So why not take up one of the following fantastic opportunities to be a part of it all. We are looking for:
- A Female Special Guest for one episode of the interactive, pun-dimensional comedy A Live Transmission of 'Adventure Time'. It's a cheeky two-minute cameo part, in which the star of Comedy Trio's spoof-tacular radio show turns up late and interrupts the recording- with "hilarious"* results... (Performed one night in January.)
- Fern and Basil (our plants in the audience) who antagonise the protagonist at the dramatic pinnacle of Tom Crawshaw's Play On Words. Very, very important (but fear not, you only have to say one line). We need a different person each night - so get in touch before they all go.
It's all in the good cause of theatre - so if you'd like to join in, drop us a line at
fun@threescompany.co.ukOh yes - and happy new year. All the best for the

New Jens please
posted by Tom Crawshaw on Wednesday, 1 July 2009
New casting developments here at our Wimbledon studio - none of them related to the sudden increase of ball games in the SW19 area.
A series of unfortunate coincidences have lead to us having to recast our leading lady for the upcoming tour of Play On Words. We are therefore very pleased to announce that one Meriel Rosenkranz will be joining us in the role of Jen this year.
More information about this exciting young actress to follow.

Another casting opportunity!
posted by Yaz Al-Shaater on Tuesday, 1 July 2008
Just putting the word out for our buddies over at
Metal Mouth Theatre, who are looking for an actress double-quick.
The exciting new theatre ensemble - who make Three's Company look like OAPs - are recasting a role in
90's Kid, a play by Taio Rene-Lawson and Joel MacCormack (
the latter being our brilliant assistant director on
Auditorium).
'Michael's Mum' (playing age 18-31) is a dark, unstable character with a quirky bohemian edge. It's a role full of humour, passion and raw emotion - and the most important character in the play.
90's Kid is in rehearsals throughout July, and is showing on the 28th & 29th July at the Etcetera Theatre in the Camden Fringe. If you're free for these dates, drop them a line at casting@metalmouththeatre.com - or check out
their website for more details.

Well, we had a few weeks of auditions and interviews over at our new rehearsal space in Hackney and had terrible difficulty choosing the best of a very good bunch...
However, we are very excited at the truly disparate and highly talented cast and crew which we can now confirm.
Performing
Auditorium, the newly-finished interactive comedy are:
And this talented bunch will be supported by the following:
- Bekki Coward - building on her success with Three's Company's Play On Words to work as Production Manager
- Gareth Martin - turning his extensive experience as a Designer to the demands of the set and props
- Neil Keating - who has been working as Dramaturg for the project since October
- Joel MacCormack - 16-year-old prodigy of Metal Mouth Theatre Company, taking on our internship position, and working as Assistant Director between his work with the NYT and National Theatre.
- Stage Manager extraordinare, Ceili Freeman
- Wily business graduate Joanna Reekie who is helping with marketing, admin, accommodation and many more things besides
- And the brains behind many a 3C poster - Haz Al-Shaater, providing Graphic Design
Which leaves
Yaz Al-Shaater as
Director of the whole thing and
myself (
Tom Crawshaw) as
Writer (and also a little cameo).
The first read-through is but a week away so just time to tweak the script a bit more - oh and sit those last exams...

Auditions announced for 'Auditorium'
posted by Tom Crawshaw on Tuesday, 1 April 2008
We are pleased to announce
auditions for our forthcoming tour of 'Auditorium' to the Buxton and Edinburgh Fringe. We are looking for a number of actors - for both full character roles as well as smaller and temporary parts - to join our 16-strong team for this exciting and unique project.
Auditions will be held in London the
week beginning 7th April, with recalls and workshops later that week or the following week. Rehearsals will be in London during June. The show will then be on tour from early July to late August.
We are looking for actors with abilities in comedy, as well as improvisation and ensemble work, keen to join a vibrant team with responsibilities outside simply performing.
The three main roles on offer are:
- Yogi (male, mid-20s) a friendly and entertaining failed performer who befriends the audience in a bid to win back his best friend.
- Heather (female, mid-20s) the long-lost girlfriend of Guy (played by Yaz Al-Shaater), who makes a suspicious return and harbours a dark secret.
- Inspector (male, late 20s / early 30s) a mysterious but slightly Clouseau-esque character who emerges from the audience in an attempt to invade the stage-world.
Smaller roles include:
- Boss (male, 20s / 30s) a force behind the entire plot but who only appears on stage at the very end.
- Girlfriend (female, 20s) who starts in the audience but storms out when her boyfriend becomes embroiled in the action.
If you are interested in any of the above roles and would like to audition or get some more information, simply email auditions@threescompany.co.uk

'Play On Words' Crew Complete!
posted by Yaz Al-Shaater on Sunday, 10 June 2007
Finally, with less than a fortnight before the first performance(!), we have a complete crew for
Play On Words - and it's a good one...
Ben Copper and
Bekki Coward, both first years on the Performance Arts course at Central School of Speech & Drama, will be joining us on our tour at our technical operator ('
Jonnie') and our stage manager ('
Claire'). We're really pleased - not ponly to have found people to fill these roles, but to have found a pair that couldn't be more perfect.
Just as well, because Tom was on the verge of a heart attack!
These guys join
Rose Lewenstein,
Sam Bailey,
Jack Knowles,
Sarah Margulewicz,
Ian Attard and
Victoria Ross as well as Tom and to complete the team for our 36 date tour of London, Buxton and Edinburgh.
Don't forget, the show opens in London's Canal Cafe Theatre on the 21st!
