Farewell to Buxton

Well, after ten sell-out shows, 400 audiences (plus 200 turned away), 40 spontaneous performers, one reviewer (and one superlative review!), three balls of string, about twenty trips to Conways Timber Merchants, four bouts of food poisoning and one very badly sprained ankle, it's finally time for us to say goodbye and thank you very much to Buxton for another splendid year.

As usual, you've provided a brilliant audience, a fantastic atmosphere, and priceless feedback. We're sorry we couldn't indulge your cries for extra performances. We miss you already.

Same time next year?

"Imaginative, innovative, unique, intelligent...."

Forgive the quiet on the blog recently - but here's a quick post with our latest review:

Oh my goodness! This performance is amazing: it is imaginative, innovative, unique, intelligent and very funny. The whole cast was outstanding, extremely confident and above all made it an evening of fun and much laughter. I honestly can't recommend it highly enough. I shan't describe it - words can't describe it - you shall have to go and see it for yourselves. I must warn you to be prepared, however. Be prepared for tears of laughter and plenty of surprises!

Book your tickets now - quick, before they all go!

-Jenny Heyward, Official Fringe Review

End of the Summer Tour

Well, it's over. Our last night was... well, last night, and that concluded our 46-date-tour.

Thanks to all of you that came to see us! We've yet to receive exact audience figures, but we know we had roughly one-and-a-half thousand audience through our doors between Crash Course and Play On Words, in London, Buxton and Edinburgh. The tour was a great success - we got some great reviews and feedback, and just about covered our costs - and has opened up some exciting possibilities for the future... but you'll have to come back later to find out what they are!

To keep up to date with what we're up to next, you can keep checking back to this blog (or subscribe by atom or rss) or join our mailing list.

Finally - congratulation to Tom - 21 today!

Happy birthday, Tom! Are you guys still in Edinburgh or have you been taken? Have you tried the free fudge yet? You must. I did your crossword. Hahahahaha. (It made me laugh - I'm one up on you now. (umm.))Although you put 11 instead of '18' for the 'play on words' clue.

Anjali.

We leave Edinburgh first thing in the morning sadly... and (even more sadly)we have a day of clearing, tidying and organising ahead.
Cheers for coming to the show - stay in touch and maybe we'll see you next year!

and here's what the Buxton Fringe said about that show that didn't exist:

"Thought-provoking and highly entertaining, we were entertained and quizzed in equal measure by... Tom Crawshaw's, Dreams Come True.
...
Local award winning playwright, Tom's piece fused the boundary between dreams and reality, leaving the onlooker wondering if a dream could last forever."

A fine performance by Michael and Mariam - and an ideas which may well be enlarged on at some later date...

Crash Course

Tom Crawshaw and Yaz Al-Shaater will return as the hapless Mike and Nick, in the long-awaited prequel to the award-winning Platformation and Plane of Existence. This anarchic, runaway comedy blends script and audience suggestions to form a series of snowballing sketches, bound towards a calamitous catastrophe - which changes every night! Make sure you catch Part 0 of the Transport Trilogy.

9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, 18th & 21st July, 10pm and 13th, 14th, 15th & 16th July, 6pm

What's Next?

We can now confirm that Play On Words will be this year's offering at the Buxton Fringe: July 7th: 23rd. The script is currently being finished by Tom and looks like being some form of tragic-comedy. Tom and Yaz will be headlining as the two leads: Fred and Eddie: and we will be auditioning for the part of Jen, their long-lost friend
