We're recruiting!

We're running another internship, for an assistant director on Auditorium.

We want an enthusiastic and energetic young theatre maker to help us realise a massive project...

You'll be working closely with the creative team on Auditorium, assisting in rehearsals, helping envision and plan our cyberformance, and immersing yourself in the project just as we will. We're looking for a collaborator; not a servant! The work will be mostly creative - we'll keep admin to a minimum: you'll only do boring stuff when we do boring stuff. And we're not fond of boring stuff.

We want somebody dedicated, enthusiastic, excitable, reliable, ridiculously hardworking, and intensely creative... just like any job in the theatre. If you think that's you, then you're probably lying to yourself. But get in touch if you're heading in that direction! The job will be demanding, but incredibly rewarding.

You'll need to be free to plunge into rehearsals and meetings throughout June - but we can arrange some flexibility if you have other commitments. There's also the potential to tour the Buxton & Edinburgh Fringes with us, over July and/or August. If you do, you'll get passes to see any show at the venues for free - well over 300 pieces of comedy, music, and all types of theatre.

Interested? First check out our page on Auditorium. Then browse our website, if you haven't already, to get an idea of who we are. Take a look at our working with Three's Company page. Then email us on iwanttowork@threescompany.co.uk, telling us why you want to work at Three's Company, and why we'd want you to work at Three's Company. We'll contact you to arrange an informal interview. CVs etc might help, but aren't compulsory. Your email doesn't need to be incredibly formal (as you probably guessed). Application close when we fill the post.

Give us a shout if you need any more info.

Get emailing!

End of the Summer Tour

Well, it's over. Our last night was... well, last night, and that concluded our 46-date-tour.

Thanks to all of you that came to see us! We've yet to receive exact audience figures, but we know we had roughly one-and-a-half thousand audience through our doors between Crash Course and Play On Words, in London, Buxton and Edinburgh. The tour was a great success - we got some great reviews and feedback, and just about covered our costs - and has opened up some exciting possibilities for the future... but you'll have to come back later to find out what they are!

To keep up to date with what we're up to next, you can keep checking back to this blog (or subscribe by atom or rss) or join our mailing list.

Finally - congratulation to Tom - 21 today!

Happy birthday, Tom! Are you guys still in Edinburgh or have you been taken? Have you tried the free fudge yet? You must. I did your crossword. Hahahahaha. (It made me laugh - I'm one up on you now. (umm.))Although you put 11 instead of '18' for the 'play on words' clue.

Anjali.

While I can't be at The Fringe this year to see Play on Words, I saw the play Later Showers in August 2005 and it was amaazing - probably one of the best shows I saw all summer. This group is worth seeing!!

Dear company of clever actors/directors/writers...etc.,

i had the opportunity last night to see said play and was blown away by what your show had to offer. kudos to the clever turn of phrase, interesting approach to the tech, and boldness that accompanied your choices onstage. i was wary in the first half hour, i didn't know how you would be able to suistain that banter for an hour and a half....but as you continued on i saw so much more. i think you found a nice balance between confusion, chaos and straight plot line. no metaphor was too blatant and no action was too overstated. it was an enjoyable night at the theatre (i had to search through a lot of ''shows'' to find something worth seeing). i wish i had something to say critically so this blog isn't just to stroke egos and praise the show, and perhaps if i see the show again i would have something critical to say, however...i (obviously) have nothing but glowing reviews and recomendations for my fellow fringe watchers. best of luck to you. if you ever want to cross the atlantic to start goin global...be in touch, your company has a fan/supporter/contact in new york now.

Dress Rehearsal Tonight!

Well, we're in Edinburgh - been here for nearly a week - and our dress rehearsal is tonight.
It's brilliant to be back in the festival, especially performing at a venue like C SoCo - the atmosphere here is amazing!
Our flyers and posters are here, the cast and crew are ready and we're all set to open tomorrow...
Check back soon to see how it went!
Also, look out for posts in the next few days from the other two members of our cast: Ian Attard and Victoria Ross, who'll offer their take on being in Edinburgh and working with Three's Company.

'Play On Words' Crew Complete!

Finally, with less than a fortnight before the first performance(!), we have a complete crew for Play On Words - and it's a good one...
Ben Copper and Bekki Coward, both first years on the Performance Arts course at Central School of Speech & Drama, will be joining us on our tour at our technical operator ('Jonnie') and our stage manager ('Claire'). We're really pleased - not ponly to have found people to fill these roles, but to have found a pair that couldn't be more perfect.
Just as well, because Tom was on the verge of a heart attack!
These guys join Rose Lewenstein, Sam Bailey, Jack Knowles, Sarah Margulewicz, Ian Attard and Victoria Ross as well as Tom and to complete the team for our 36 date tour of London, Buxton and Edinburgh.
Don't forget, the show opens in London's Canal Cafe Theatre on the 21st!

Good news: Play On Words has won a place in Oxford University's New Writing Festival! It is one of four plays chosen from amongst a large number of plays submitted by Oxford Students, andas a result will be presented in the BurtonTaylor Theatre, in February '07.
Interestingly, Income Taxi which some will remember from Buxton Fringe 2004 also made it into the final eight!

Later Showers Video

A video of our Edinburgh production of Later Showers is now available. See the Later Showers page for a trailer. A number of producers in London and elsewhere have expressed an interest in the show but, unfortunately, Michael, now at RADA is unable to perform outside of this training. We wish him the best with whatever rigorous stuff they must be putting him through!
There are already plans for a production of Later Showers in London in 2008, when Michael finishes at drama school.

Awards 2005

We are pleased to announce that Plane Of Existence picked up Best Musical Comedy at the Fringe Awards yesterday. Tom's script also received a nomination for Best New Writing. The last show on Saturday was an exciting end to the run and we can confirm that we reached a total audience of way over 600! Thank-you to everyone who came to see it and to all the musicians and crew involved.
We are now turning our attention to Later Showers which we will be polishing this week before heading up to Edinburgh for the Fringe on August 1st. First performance at C Electric on August 3rd!
